Jett Foundation Launches $10.7M Capital Campaign to Build First-of-Its-Kind Sanctuary for Duchenne Community

Jett Foundation announced on July 15, 2026, the launch of a capital campaign to fund the construction of Jett's Place, a first-of-its-kind wellness and retreat center designed as a sanctuary for individuals and families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). The campaign, with a $10.7 million goal, has already raised over $5 million during its quiet phase, anchored by two transformative $1 million donations from the Emilson Family and ITF Therapeutics.

Located on a 10-acre campus in Norwell, Massachusetts, Jett's Place will serve as the Jett Foundation's national headquarters. The facility is designed with barrier-free accessibility, specialized wellness care, adaptive nature and recreation, and educational programs, all developed with input from Duchenne families. The center aims to provide a dedicated space where the Duchenne community can access resources, support, and respite.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a progressive neuromuscular disorder diagnosed during childhood, causing loss of motor, pulmonary, and cardiac function, and leading to premature death. It affects approximately 1 in 5,000 live male births and some females. There is currently no cure. Children with Duchenne typically lose the ability to walk around age 12 and succumb to the disease in their early to mid-twenties.

Since 2001, Jett Foundation has worked to empower people and families impacted by Duchenne through transformative programming, educational opportunities, and ongoing support. The foundation, based in Norwell, Massachusetts, is a registered 501(c)(3) charity. More information is available at www.jettfoundation.org.

ITF Therapeutics, the U.S. affiliate of Italfarmaco Group, was established in January 2024 to develop and commercialize treatments for rare diseases. The company focuses on end-to-end commercial execution and close listening to advocates, researchers, clinicians, and families. Their $1 million donation to Jett's Place underscores their commitment to the Duchenne community. For more information, visit www.itftherapeutics.com.

The capital campaign invites broader community support to bring Jett's Place to life, representing a significant milestone for Jett Foundation and the Duchenne community. The facility promises to be a vital resource for those affected by this devastating disease, offering a place of healing, connection, and empowerment.
