Quantum BioPharma Hits Key Study Milestone as Early MS Imaging Data Shows Promising Signal

Quantum BioPharma Ltd. (NASDAQ: QNTM) (CSE: QNTM) announced that its ongoing imaging collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital has reached a key milestone, with patient enrollment in the pilot study hitting the halfway point and preliminary imaging data showing a meaningful signal in multiple sclerosis lesions.

The study is evaluating a novel positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer that could help researchers distinguish between reversible nerve damage and permanent damage. This technique is critical for monitoring disease progression and treatment efficacy in multiple sclerosis, a neurological disease that affects approximately 2.9 million people globally, with nearly one million in the United States. Most diagnoses occur between ages 20 and 40, impacting individuals during their most productive years.

Quantum BioPharma is developing Lucid-MS, a drug candidate for MS, and the imaging study is designed to support its development. The company believes that better imaging tools could accelerate clinical trials and improve patient outcomes by providing more precise biomarkers.

"These early data are encouraging and represent an important step forward in our understanding of MS pathology," said a company spokesperson. The milestone underscores progress in the company's pipeline and its commitment to addressing neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders.
